In short
- This website runs on its own server in Germany.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising. We set no cookies ourselves; your choice about embedded players is kept in your browser's local storage.
- Fonts and images are served from our own server. Spotify and YouTube players load only after you agree; otherwise you see a plain link.
- We only process personal data when you write to us or take part in a poll.
Hosting on our own server
This website runs on a server operated by the controller in Germany. No external hosting provider is involved. Data arising from your visit stays on this server unless described otherwise in this policy.
Visiting the website and server logs
Your browser sends technical data to our server (IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data, referrer, browser and operating system). We store IP addresses in log files only in shortened form and delete the logs automatically after 7 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in running the website securely. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
Contact form and email
When you write to us, we use your name, email address, topic and message to answer you. To prevent spam, the IP address of your request is kept in the server's memory for no more than 24 hours and is not stored permanently. The message is delivered by email to our mailbox at Google (Gmail), Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland; a transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out (EU-US Data Privacy Framework, Art. 45 GDPR). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time, and Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract. We delete your message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Fan polls
We store the answer you choose. To allow one vote per person, we create a one-way hash from your IP address and a random value that is used for this one poll only. The IP address itself is not stored. The hashes are deleted no later than 30 days after the poll ends; only the totals are kept. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in a fair result.
Consent and cookie settings
We manage your consent with the open-source software Klaro (BSD-3-Clause licence), served from our own server; no data is sent to its maker or other third parties. On your first visit we ask whether Spotify and YouTube players may be loaded. “Accept” and “Decline” are equal choices; without consent nothing is loaded from these providers. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (entry “einwilligung”) so we do not ask on every visit. It only records which services you allowed, is not sent to us and stays until you delete it in your browser. Legal basis: Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (c) with Art. 7 (1) GDPR. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via “Change cookie settings” in the footer or here: Change cookie settings.
Spotify player
Players of the music streaming service Spotify may be embedded on this website. Provider: Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden. A player loads only after you agree (in the consent banner or with “Load player”). Once loaded, your browser connects to Spotify servers and transmits in particular your IP address, browser and device information and the address of the page. Spotify may use cookies or similar technologies and, if you are logged in, link the use to your account. Spotify also processes data outside the EU, for example in the USA, based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time in the cookie settings. More: Spotify privacy policy.
YouTube videos
The “Music videos” section embeds a YouTube playlist of our music videos as a single player. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We embed videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player loads only after you click “Accept” in the consent banner, allow YouTube in the cookie settings or choose “Load video” in the placeholder; until then you only see a placeholder and no data is sent to YouTube. Once loaded, your browser connects to YouTube/Google servers and transmits in particular your IP address, browser and device information and the address of the page; when you play a video, YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies and, if you are logged in, link the use to your Google account. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time in the cookie settings. More: Google privacy policy. The “Go to the YouTube channel” button and the YouTube icon in the footer are plain links; YouTube only opens, and receives data, when you click them.
Links to other services
This website also contains plain links, including in the player placeholders, for example to Spotify or TikTok. No data is sent to these services unless you click a link.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and you may withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). A short message to the email address above is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.
